Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM):
During our efforts to expand the machining capabilities at West Cobb Engineering , the need to expand our inspection metrology was inevitable. As a result, the Hexagon Global 124010 was purchased. Due to the measuring envelope of the 124010 (i.e. X = 47.2” , Y=157.4” and Z = 39.4”) West Cobb has the added capability to measure both small and large parts faster (improved throughput) with greater accuracy than conventional methods previously used. The CMM has proven to be a valuable asset when performing reverse engineering, as well as, incorporating the LSP-X1 Scanning Probe to measure form and profile of parts fast and accurate.
Leica Laser Tracker:

At West Cobb, Tool building is a major part of our operation. Platforms, Aircraft assemblies and Fixed Assembly Jigs that are too big to use the CMM, required the addition of the Leica AT901-B Laser Tracker. The AT901-B is the latest in Laser Tracker metrology with a maximum measurement range of 262 feet and a measuring rate performance of approximately 3,000 points per second. Incorporating these two assets into our Inspection metrology keeps West Cobb Engineering at the forefront of technology as well as a Supplier of contention for business opportunities today and tomorrow.
